German savings bank Sparkasse Saarlouis uses Hyper.Net Sparkassen edition as powerful information platform
Stuttgart - Germany, November 12, 2009. Sparkasse Saarlouis, a savings bank leading in its field in the town Saarlouis, uses Coextant Systems’ Hyper.Net® Sparkassen Edition to automatically supply its staff with structured and personalized information. Using this solution, previously published content can be updated automatically. In addition, the 40 authors and 760 readers benefit from improved search functions, an intuitive usability and the possibility to manage personal favorites.
Today, all document related processes of Sparkasse Saarlouis are managed with the new Intranet portal. Hyper.Net Sparkassen Edition offers employees quick access to policies and procedures, work instructions and all other relevant information such as distribution-of-business plans, terms and conditions, product information, statistics, news and circulars. Also, internal forms and important links, e.g. to the business newspaper “Handelsblatt” or to the Juris legal website, are available. Currently, about 14,000 documents are managed using the solution, 2,500 of which are documents published in all fields.
Hyper.Net Sparkassen Edition was chosen primarily for its flexibility and scalability. Thus, a very large spectrum of database applications as well as software such as MS Office, Open Office and Lotus Notes can be integrated. "We think the ease-of-use is a big asset – users can work in their normal environment such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint. We are not limited to certain products and do not have to use special Intranet editors. Plus, our authors do not need any programming skill to be able to publish content”, says Dirk Becker, the project manager who is responsible for the implementation of the content management system at Sparkasse Saarlouis.

The bank with its 60 branch offices, four service centers and numerous departments also benefits from very little administration overhead, fast and targeted research functions and document sharing between teams for editing. From the start homepage, staff members can access documents quickly using the personal favorites function. “Using the current version of Hyper.Net Sparkassen Edition, our authors can very quickly and efficiently put documents onto the system and publish content. This also applies to appointments and other information of any kind. Thus, the solution will also help us to keep the staff up to date about the about the progress made in migrating and restructuring our internal IT. To achieve this, the individual IT project groups will create their own team sites for the restructuring. We think this is the perfect solution – the flow of information in a company simply cannot be organized more efficiently,” concludes Dirk Becker.
