FeedJournal and doXtop auto-create and distribute comprehensive news sites
Stuttgart/Germany, October 2009. There's a remarkable news site (magazine) on doXtop, added a few weeks ago, that offers a comprehensive archive of up-to-date news. It is called Liberty Newsprint and it presents information from a large variety of subjects in a traditional looking paper format - combined with the advantages of the modern Web (like search, commenting, share and more).
The daily issues of the newspaper (up to 100 pages) are generated individually and fully automated by a software service called FeedJournal doXtop creates an online optimized flash of the source file and deploys this

· |
as standalone publication
|
| |
· |
as a collection of all issues in a fully featured Web site with Web 2.0 functionality

into social networks of one’s choice via the integrated OpenSocial interface

Generating individual news
FeedJournal allows users to define which content from the Internet they want (RSS feeds), when an issue should be generated and how it should be assembled into a PDF. According to FeedJournal founder, Mr. Jonas Martinsson, users can customize the newspaper layout, including sections, page size, font size, number of columns, as well as the logo type for branding. The result is a professional-looking personalized newspaper in PDF format. This newspaper can then be printed on the user's printer, or downloaded to an e-reader device.

Liberty Newsprint syndicated with Ning and other networks
But doXtop can accomplish even more than this. As doXtop’s underlying content transformation engine allows cross media publishing and supports the Web OpenSocial standard – any doXtop publication can be automatically syndicated into social networks that support this standard. A very good implementation of this has been done by one of the world’s leading social networks Ning.
Any user of the over 1 million Ning social networks can add doXtop as an application to his profile. Network owners can even add it as a main menu item. Every network user can then publish his documents directly into his profile and the publications of all network members are shown in well-structured navigable lists on a central place in the network.
Check it out in our Ning sample network here http://doxtop.ning.com/ .
Liberty Newsprint, as well as other newspapers and media created by FeedJournal, can be take advantage of doXtop's OpenSocial support. Content can be seamlessly published and deployed into any system that supports the OpenSocial standards and has accepted doXtop as an application. doXtop is currently approved on the following social networks: Ning, Orkut, Hi5, friendster and FanBox.
Summary and Outlook
FeedJournal and doXtop offer a fully automated system to generate, publish and deploy user specific content. The solution combines traditional newspaper approaches with the power of the modern Web.
"FeedJournal and doXtop offer all the required features for efficiently creating, publishing and distributing new newspapers over the Web. The blend of the two services offers a unique solution on the market today, with top-notch quality and business value”, concludes Mr. Jonas Martinsson, Founder of FeedJournal.
Both software companies also started planning to add new functionalities to their solution. "We are experts for parsing and transforming rich content for any media and purpose - and we can create topics inside the publications, add a TOC and organize topics from all issues by specific categories or filter topics for certain needs. Along with the Web 2.0 power of doXtop we see an exciting way here for future development" says Paul Caspers, creator of doXtop and CEO of Coextant Systems.
doXtop can also detect and embed live links and FeedJournal will soon produce documents that can utilize this service. When it does, Liberty Newsprint content will be fully integrated, giving its readers the capability to read the news in an elegant newspaper format and link out to the content providers website within a PDF.
Based on this Joel Robinson – the creator of Liberty NewsPrint – gives an exciting outlook:"I see Feedjournal and doXtop ahead of the curve on building the way content providers and publishers will provide their information in the future and creating ways for them to create greater value with their content .The way they earn their money will drastically change ... the Web allows for extremely low cost content stores and customized content instead of a <one for all> (few media for all people) -utilizing the Feedjournal.com publisher application, integrated with doXtop's publishing multi-format platform it is easy for us (or anyone for that matter) to create individualized best adapted media for specific groups ... as E-reader device usage grows, with Liberty Newsprint I am confident we will begin to point the way to a profitable news and content distribution business, with this new method of information management“.
