Architecture of a Content Automation™ Solution

Over the last decade, Coextant has developed a solid model for realizing Content Automation solutions as part of its daily routine.
For detailed information, see Guidelines for Implementing content intensive Portals and Web SolutionsGuidelines for Implementing content intensive Portals and Web Solutions (PDF, 4 MB)
A Content Automation™ solution is always based on what could be described as its four foundations:

  1.
Creation of content
  2.
Management of content
  3.
Preparation and distribution of content and
  4.
Use of content.
In Content Automation projects, an assembly line for the production, packaging and completely automated distribution of information is designed and implemented. This principle is shown in the following figure.

Content Automation solutions are based on Web services for an automatic content deployment rather than on manual content distribution.
The powerful, server-based content transformation services transform “document-related” information and content from other systems to structured data. This transformation is controlled by rules. The structured data can then be used by any application and any medium – by itself or in combination with data from ERP or WCMS systems.
Content transformation services enable organizations to provide content in a completely automated way:

  ·
personalized in context specific form suitable for users
  ·
when and as required, current and authentic
  ·
in each Web application and for all media
