Having access to updated information at any time is extremely important in the auto industry. The losses resulting from out-dated price lists and specifications are significant. With the new solution, Bertel O. Steen's employees and dealerships all over Norway gain immediate and direct access to complete and accurate information on the products they are selling.
"I dread to think of the alternative," says Tron Kvaern, Bertel O. Steen's manager for business development, pictured left with his hands full of yesteryear's information carriers.

"Without this change, we would still be producing enormous amounts of paper and distributing them in binders, memos, on bulletin boards and through the internal mail system. Keeping the paper mill running would have demanded large costs and the content would not always be up to date. In the short term we expect to cut the cost associated with paper distribution by more than 30 percent," says Kvaern. "In addition, a messy file structure with 17,000 folders will be replaced by the solution, opening up a new era of knowledge sharing."
