Hyper.Net 4.9 Released

New and improved platform support, continued deep alignment with Microsoft Office, SharePoint Products & Technologies, and .Net 2.0, to further strengthen integration with Microsoft Enterprise Content Management (ECM) offerings.

Stuttgart, Germany, August 15, 2006: Coextant Systems today announced the general availability of Hyper.Net v. 4.9.1, the latest evolution of Coextant's Enterprise Content Integration and Transformation infrastructure.
This release focuses on improving and expanding the already wide platform support of Hyper.Net to include the latest offerings from Microsoft in the form of .Net 2.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and Windows Server 2003 R2, as well as expanding the support for Office 2003 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003/Windows SharePoint Services 2003 to include the latest service packs.
"This release allows our customers to continue updating their platform without worrying about compatibility issues" said Robert Nederby, MD of Coextant Systems A/S. "Customers can start leveraging the .Net 2.0 platform strategically while keeping their existing legacy platforms online, which significantly reduces the complexity and risk otherwise involved in upgrading your Enterprise Content Management platform."
The 4.9.1 release of Hyper.Net also introduces a refreshed Virtual Taxonomy Designer which has been extensively reworked to improve the user experience and ease the administration and implementation of taxonomies. The VTD 2.0 allows customers to easily build multi-language taxonomies, further strengthening the ability to easily and flexibly create and maintain navigational constructs and multi-level categorizations in SharePoint and SQL-based Web sites.
A further strong feature in this release is the introduction of support for IBM Lotus Domino 7.0 and IBM Lotus Domino Document Manager 7.0, further building upon Hyper.Net's tradition of strong support and tight integration with the latest versions of the IBM Lotus Domino product suite.
The core components of Hyper.Net have also been tweaked and refined, offering customers increased stability and performance, along with a host of other improvements, all targeted at minimizing the customer TCO and increasing the stability and availability of the Hyper.Net platform.
Even the systems administrators have been looked after with this release. A new and completely reworked Hyper.Net Administration Tool has been developed, enhancing the performance and ease of use of the tool markedly, making the Hyper.Net administration task even easier and less time consuming.
To handle the increased platform support and the extensive suite of add-on tools, the installation kit has been reworked, and is now split into two parts. The main installer contains the core components that all installations need, the second part contains the Hyper.Net add-ons and supplementary Content Storage Integrations, keeping the more complex options and integrations away from the core installation task, reducing the complexity of installing Hyper.Net significantly.
"Hyper.Net 4.9 is a significant step towards full support for the Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007 technologies, while at the same time bridging the gap between the legacy content storage systems and the new .Net 2.0 platform", said Paul Caspers, CEO of Coextant Systems International AG. "We are now ready to implement full support for Office 2007 and Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 technologies in the next version of Hyper.Net, as soon as the platform has been released officially. "
