Rieter Management’s corporate web site, based on Coextant Hyper.Net, Microsoft and IBM technologies, was recently ranked first in a comparison of the top 76 companies in Switzerland.
Stuttgart, Germany, 18 September 2004 – Rieter Management AG (www.rieter.com), a leading global supplier of systems solutions and services for the textile, automotive and plastics industries, was recently ranked best internet Web site of 2004 by the magazine Finanz und Wirtschaft and the Swiss Society for Investor Relations.
The study, which included all companies listed on the Swiss Market Index (SMI), as well as the first 50 firms on the Swiss Exchange with the highest market capitalization, was conducted by technology and marketing specialists from the Swiss public relations firms APR and Darner PR AND Consulting. Among companies included in the study were Swiss Life (www.swisslife.com, ranked 2nd), ABB (www.abb.com, ranked 3rd) and Rieter.
In addition to optical appearance and ease of navigation, the study also considered robustness issues such as organization and presentation of general financial information, investor relation information, media relations materials and interactive functions, as well as multi-language support and site structure. The decisive factors for the Rieter Web site were extensive financial and economic information, online appearance, modern optics, and the notably simple navigation, which leads the user to desired information in only a few clicks.
Rieter was pleased by the positive result of the study. Edda Walraf, Marketing Director for Rieter Textile Systems said: “Our first place ranking in the Web Rating 2004 study is the result of intensive project work that enabled our business groups to keep extensive information targeted and up-to-date. Hyper.Net and Coextant Consulting Services provided us with the substantial assistance needed to make this happen.”
“The Rieter Web site is technologically state-of-the-art,” said Coextant CEO Paul Caspers. “The sophisticated functionality and outstanding presentation were made possible because Hyper.Net enables the use of the most modern software architectures and simultaneously supports integration of various technologies. Rieter, which had an historical reliance on IBM technologies, decided to leverage the Microsoft technologies for their new internet presence. Microsoft .NET, Office 2003 and SQL Server running on Windows 2003 Server were integrated with large volumes of content stored in IBM Domino Document Manager.”
